Human before engineer.
I have been writing software for two decades. Started young, kept going. I work best on problems where the engineering matters and the stakes are real: production systems, AI integration that actually reaches users, civic platforms with public accountability, and framework-level tools that other engineers rely on.
I founded Level09 Studios in 2005. Since then my work has spanned enterprise systems for international media groups, technology consulting for civic and humanitarian organisations, and the long open-source projects that put my name on the map.
Today I work independently from Berlin. I take a small number of engagements at a time, usually serious and often long-running, and spend the rest of my hours on the open-source projects on the work page. That balance is the whole point.
Outside the keyboard: gym, badminton, coffee, the city.
